Internationalization
CharacterWorks GUI and documentation (interactive help system) have been translated into Simplified Chinese (many thanks to Oxygentec). If you are interested in helping us translate CW into your native language, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Support for FinishLynx Photo-Finish and Timing Systems
CharacterWorks’ Key-Value Data source can now connect to FinishLynx systems (over serial/COM or network/UDP connection) and receive results information and timing in real-time. This makes CW’s attractive and dynamic graphics available to FinishLynx users worldwide, providing a powerful alternative to ResulTV software in existing and future installations.
New Date/Time formatting features in CWML
The new “calendar” parameter makes it possible to specify type of calendar (e.g. Gregorian, Chinese, Islamic, etc.) to be used for display of current time and date. Furthermore, advanced date/time formatting is now supported via formatting strings that conform to the Unicode CLDR date/time patterns specification.
More Flexible Window Arrangements in the GUI
CW’s windows can now be docked and tabbed in multiple columns or rows within the main window or with each other in side monitors.
Remote Control Protocol
The Remote Control Protocol has become capable of handling multiple commands within a single HTTP request. In addition, Access-Control-Allow-Origin header can be specified, making it possible for web-based applications residing on external servers to access CW functionality via the Remote Control Protocol.

- Several new sample projects, templates and presets have been added. New sports samples include volleyball, American football, baseball.
